On 13th May 2021, day one of the Digital Government Virtual Summit began with an Opening Keynote from Julia Lopez MP.

Minister Lopez was appointed Parliamentary Secretary at the Cabinet Office on 14 February 2020 and is responsible for supporting the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Lord Agnew to deliver cross-government efficiency and public sector transformation.

In this session Minister Lopez covers:
  • An introduction to the Central Digital and Data Office
  • Building a new data-driven infrastructure to boost public sector transformation that will establish a collaborative way of working and distribute authority to the frontline
  • National Data Strategy: the latest updates and next steps in reforming Government’s relationship with data
  • Leading the DDaT Function: tackling legacy IT, upskilling the DDaT profession, and monitoring progress
