On 8th September 2021, the GovNet Tech community welcomed Mark Simms, Head of Public Sector UK at Equinix and Tim Hinchey, Head of Cloud and Infrastructure Architecture at the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency for a case-study style webinar.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is an executive agency of the UK government. Its priorities are helping everyone through a lifetime of safe driving and helping everyone keep their vehicle safe to drive. The DVSA employs 4,600 people in over 500 locations, requiring fast, responsive access to cloud-based applications.
To improve efficiency, add flexibility, and gain value for money, the DVSA underwent an ambitious digital transformation journey in 2019. By shifting from long-term contracts, minimising vendor lock-in, reducing their dependency on PSN and moving to open source and cloud where possible the DVSA has gained tangible benefits.
Watch along as Mark & Tim explain the DVSA’s digital transformation journey including:
- Why adopt a ‘digital-first' approach?
- Key challenges on the road to moving digital
- Outcomes and key takeaways
