Alex B Hansen the 2023 TECA winner for outstanding young professionals is the Compliance and Relationship Manager at National Hunter. Alex has an extensive portfolio with 11 years of experience within fraud prevention ranging from mortgage fraud to vehicle finance and everything in between. Over recent times Alex’s research has been focused on AI, its threats and how it’s being developed to protect individuals. Alex also spends a large amount of his free time educating students on how to stay safe online and prevent falling victim to fraudsters.
Lex Unsworth is a driven and highly organised individual who works at the Pensions Regulator as a Principal Intelligence Manager, with an extensive background in financial services, law enforcement, and central government. Lex brings a unique and valuable skill set to any endeavour as she is passionate about making a positive impact and is known for her dedication, professionalism, and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
Kate McMahon is a highly skilled Intelligence Analyst at The Pensions Regulator. Prior to joining the regulator, she spent the last 15 years working in various intelligence roles in law enforcement, the MHRA, counter-terrorism and the National Crime Agency. She has extensive experience of working with and analysing communications data to support complex investigations and was also previously a communications data SPoC.

This session is especially relevant for organizations working with Communications Data. The mandatory Code of Practice, effective from October 2023, sets quality standard requirements for Forensic Science Activities (FSAs) related to crime investigation and the criminal justice system in England and Wales. Even if you're not aware that you're conducting forensic science, if you acquire communications data and use cell site analysis for geolocation, your activities are included within the code. It's important to act now, as organizations have until 2025 to become compliant with the new code.
