Live Talk: Combatting Fraud by Eliminating Mule Accounts

Alexander Wood, CEO of  Reform Courses gives an honest and candid talk about his time as a (very successful) fraudster, and one way the public sector can s ignificantly disrupt fraud - by tackling mule accounts.
 
A mule account is a bank account controlled by somebody other than the registered account holder. Primary mules receive fraudulent payments directly from victims before cascading down in smaller tranches to secondary mules for withdrawal in cash.
 
There are many different types of mule account available, and t he overwhelming number of fraudulent transactions are cashed out through networks of mule accounts.
