As the year draws to a close, we wanted to look back at a quick snapshot of this year’s highlights within the public sector technology portfolio and say a huge thank you to the GovNet Technology community. Whether you spoke at a conference session, hosted a stand, watched a webinar or read an edition of our newsletter, we’re so glad you’ve joined us as part of an ever-growing community to transform the future of technology in the UK public sector.
Getting back to face-to-face events!
We couldn’t do a highlights of the year round up without mentioning how amazing it’s been to be (finally) back at face to face events this year! After two years of virtual summits and conferences, seeing familiar and brand new faces across our portfolio of events, seeing productive and insightful conversations and talks in real time and watching colleagues catch up over lunch has been so refreshing! We’re so glad to have everyone back together in person in a safe and secure environment.
Our year in numbers!
We’re delighted that our GovNet Tech community is always growing and expanding, and in 2022 we’ve officially grown our subscriber base to reach over 10,000 leading professionals who are subscribed to keep up to date with our latest news and events.
At this year’s technology events, we welcomed 1,434 delegates though our doors, alongside 135 leading and innovative suppliers to the public sector, offering a wide range of services to help accelerate digital transformation within government. We can’t wait to welcome even more to join us in 2023.
Ministerial Keynote at GovTech
At this year’s GovTech Conference in October, the (now former) Secretary of State for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy, Jacob Rees-Mogg took to the stage to open the event with a Ministerial Keynote. Speaking to a full room, he welcomed the audience and discussed the future of public sector technology, proudly declaring that ‘the new technologies we are looking at will blast us into the future, where we are the world leaders’. His opening speech set the tone for an insightful, successful day of knowledge sharing and networking with our leading speakers and suppliers.
Breakfast Briefings at the House of Lords
This year, we’ve hosted two breakfast briefings at the House of Lords, in association with long term partners Pure Storage. These breakfast briefings were a unique opportunity to welcome high-level experts from across the public sector to join us at the House of Lords for a hearty start to the day, the opportunity to chat to their peers, discuss shared challenges and help each other overcome issues within their organisation, such as outdated legacy systems, technical debt and much more. What an impressive view to start your morning with!
