Earlier this year, more than 530 delegates logged on for the very first Counter Fraud Conference to take place online due to restrictions put in place to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. The event proved to be a resounding success, with attendees providing extremely positive feedback on the agenda and content, as well as the ability to network and engage with their peers on our sophisticated event platform.
Despite the virtual conference earning rave reviews, we are excited to announce that Counter Fraud 2022 will be taking place in London – at the QEII Centre in Westminster, which has been home to the event for many years. Now in its 11th year, we are expecting Counter Fraud 2022 to be the best in the series to date; providing the public sector with the right tools and knowledge to help reduce the threat of fraud.
The overarching theme for the one-day event - hosted in partnership with the Cabinet Office - is “Staying at the Forefront of Counter Fraud Evolution”, with the objective of helping the industry to embrace the power of digital, collaboration and data-driven decision making to strengthen the UK’s resilience to fraud.
Leading speakers confirmed for Counter Fraud 2022
A number of authoritative speakers have already been confirmed, including Lisa Osofsky, Director at Serious Fraud Office, who will discuss the future shape of economic crime. Counter Fraud 2022 will feature a cross government panel discussion focusing on the impact of fraud and learning lessons from Covid-19. The roundtable includes Bozena Hillyer (DWP), Neil Green (Government Internal Agency), Mark Sutcliffe (BEIS) and Joshua Reddaway (National Audit Office).
The afternoon will also feature a panel session on leading the response against organised crime – featuring David Kleinberg (National Investigation Service) and John Roch (Metropolitan Police), who will be joined by a senior representative from the National Cyber Security Centre. In addition, delegates will also hear from Andrew Penhale, from the CPS, on demystifying prosecution and meeting the evidential burden. Meanwhile, the agenda includes a session on countering fraud in the NHS, including a review of the NHSCFA 2020-2023 strategy. More speakers are being added every week, so make sure you subscribe to our blog to keep up to date.
