Live from the Counter Fraud 2026 conference in London, Mark Squibbs and Emma Cathcart share their first-hand experience of detecting and then prosecuting a polygamous working case within the public sector.

The case resulted in a three-year prison sentence for the individual, who had fraudulently earned over £236,000 across four simultaneous public sector roles, highlighting the need for stronger preventative controls and proactive fraud detection.
